“He who returns from a journey is not the same as he who left.” – Chinese proverb
Traveling teaches me that it is okay to be different with a purpose rather than becoming one who follows aimlessly. I travel for some of the many reasons. To tick off the list of must-visit places on earth. To experience new cultures. To make new friends. To seek the truth. But I mostly travel to learn about myself.
I can’t look at myself without the help of the man in the mirror; and the best mirror is connections with other people. Traveling kicks me out of my comfort zone and continuously keeps me questioning: is this really me, is this the better version of me?
But traveling is – and will always be – fun. And I can promise everyone that it is a whole new kind of fun waiting for those who open their mind and do not stop learning.
