After three painful dives around Sydney Bay (15degC, 7mm thick wetsuit, down currents, bumping a huge boulder and 1-1.5m wavy surface) and sightings of weird and lovely creature (weedy sea dragon, Port Jackson shark and the great nurse shark), I hitched off from Rose Bay Wharf and managed to travel around Sydney.
Sydney is very cosmopolitan. Around greater Sydney, you’ll find peaceful modern life. No rush, buzz and fuss.
The major tourist destination is of course Bondi Beach. It’s a lovely beach with coarse white (or yellow?) sand and challenging waves. Frankly speaking, it’s a good but not the best beach I’ve ever seen. Indonesia has lot more exotic beaches. But, talking about safety, the famous Bondi boys are superb!
One thing I missed: the red-orange cap! Anyone care to send one for me?
