The old city of Kashgar

Journey
The old city of Kashgar

The eastern side of Old Kashgar City was highlighted with impressive high rock cliffs/walls. Having studied civil engineering, it was an embarrassing moment when I could not explain what were the gutters along the sloping walls for to my guide.
I guess it was to channel the water running from above to reduce erosion to the rock. Or maybe not. Any civil engineer here?

Indonesia. (In)complete.

Twenty four hours was not enough to explore the City of Bengkulu, let alone the province. But twenty four hours was enough for me to say that I was inspired by a mix of worry, quirkiness, gratefulness, hatred, pride and acceptance. Life feels more present with a mix of these feelings; I felt alive too.
