Malaysia gak melulu tentang Petronas.

Di Kuala Lumpur dan sekitarnya, banyak bangunan yang bisa diperhatikan lebih seksama. Perpaduan Cina, Melayu dan India, beberapa detil menunjukkan keserasian – dan kontradiksi – yang membuka imajinasi.

Walau umumnya lebih teratur dibanding Jakarta, beberapa hal yang sempat melintas di depan mata – pipa air yang nggak nyambung, jemuran di balkon apartemen rumah burung, hingga pakaian yang dipajang sedemikian rupa hingga menutup hampir seluruh bagian dinding di depan toko – sempat mengundang senyum tersungging.

Truly Asia? Masih perlu dibuktikan. Tapi sehari di Kuala Lumpur cukup membuka mata bagaimana ibukota negeri jiran ini berusaha untuk membuktikan slogan penggenjot pariwisata negeri ini.

Twenty four hours was not enough to explore the City of Bengkulu, let alone the province. But twenty four hours was enough for me to say that I was inspired by a mix of worry, quirkiness, gratefulness, hatred, pride and acceptance. Life feels more present with a mix of these feelings; I felt alive too.
